“True suffering belongs to innocence, not guilt.” – Helen Luke
You may find yourself surviving challenging seasons. I’m here to sit with you through difficult situations and explore questions that have been hard to answer. I’ll invite you to cultivate awareness around your circumstances and feelings. You may also be in the process of revisiting identities and beliefs due to life disruptions (i.e. grief or relationship challenges), or there’s resurfacing trauma that is requiring your attention. Therapy can be a healing space to process the struggles that are impacting your mood and sense of who you are.
I believe each psychotherapy process is unique. I work in a collaborative way by integrating a variety of strategies that feel supportive to you at each moment. I am curious about the ultimate concerns of life (i.e. death and meaninglessness). I believe in finding creative ways – and inviting creativity – to sustain the challenging task that is to live. I’ve found that Existential/Humanistic approaches offer a language that speaks to my core as a therapist and a way to meet you where you’re at. My work is influenced by Gestalt therapy and other somatic approaches, holding a holistic point of view. Considering all those influences, in the therapy room, I aim to provide a non-judgmental and safe environment where people get to express themselves as they are in the moment.
I am passionate about the encounters of people from different cultures and ethnicities, therefore, I also appreciate supporting clients who are going through acculturation challenges (due to immigration, first/second generation, etc.) and partnering in their path of learning how to hold multiple values and beliefs.
I support California residents online through video sessions, and in person in Berkeley, CA. I work with couples, adolescents, and individual adults in all stages of life. Sessions are held either in English or Portuguese. My practice is open to all.

There is not one single way to go about therapy. Identifying and giving space to what is going on inside you, or between you and your partner, in a safe space will be the beginning of a journey towards change.
