In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, I’m continuing to share weekly guided practices to support your emotional well-being. This week’s offering is something I return to when I need deep restoration: Yoga Nidra.
Yoga Nidra, often translated as “yogic sleep,” is a guided meditation that invites your body to deeply relax while your awareness remains gently awake. It’s deeply calming for the nervous system. It’s even believed 10 minutes of yoga nidra equates to 1 hour of sleep in your body. This is anecdotal, but research has shown short sessions are effective in reducing stress and activating the parasympathetic nervous system.
For me personally, Yoga Nidra has been a refuge. When I catch myself in patterns of stress and my body holding tension in ways that have lead to chronic pain and health issues in the past, this practice acts as my medicine and helps me return to myself with care and presence.
This week’s recording is designed to help you unwind, soften the edges of overwhelm, and experience the healing power of conscious rest. You can listen lying down or seated—whatever helps your body feel safe and supported.

May this be an invitation to slow down, reconnect, and receive the nourishment of simply being.
