If there’s one thing I know well, it’s doubt. It has followed me into decisions both big and small, into moments of clarity, and moments of fear. And I know I’m not alone—doubt is a deeply human experience. It can show up when you’re about to set a boundary, take a risk, speak up in a conversation, or make a change whether internally or externally.
But what if doubt isn’t something to get rid of? What if, instead, it’s an opportunity?
I’ve come to see doubt as a sign that something matters to me. That I care. That I want to get it right. And instead of freezing or second-guessing, I try to meet it with curiosity:
What is doubt asking me to pay attention to?
Sometimes, it’s asking for reassurance. Sometimes, it’s nudging me to pause and reflect. And sometimes, it’s simply fear disguising itself as wisdom.
Whether find yourself caught in doubt this week or want to save this for a challenging day, I invite you to turn toward doubt with honesty, not harshness. Can you see it as a doorway into deeper discernment rather than a reason to abandon yourself?
Doubt doesn’t mean you’re wrong. It means you’re human. And that’s always worth tending to.
Warmly,
Elana
