Psychotherapy with Dennis
Transformation is a journey that calls upon us to participate in the discovery of who we authentically are. It is a tender growing of our most vulnerable selves that leads us past our fears through a Hero’s journey, and into a beautiful transformation waiting on the other side.
Hello, my name is Dennis, and I’m a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. I care a great deal about my clients, and will always provide you with a safe and empathetic space on your journey towards healing.
I take a person-first and holistic approach to my therapeutic work. This means that I offer support and guidance while focusing on your personal empowerment and values as central to the therapeutic process. I pay attention to what you are experiencing on all levels including body, mind, and spirit. I also incorporate Buddhist psychology with a focus on mindfulness and meditation practices.
I will always walk with you at your side while exploring and unraveling your sources of suffering. Together we can work to bring healing that integrates both the light and the shadow that makes you a whole person.
The therapeutic modalities I use include expressive arts therapy, trauma-informed work, mindfulness, and somatic techniques that reconnect you with your body, mind, and spirit. I also integrate Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Nature-Based Counseling (strengthening our connections to the natural world and reconnecting ourselves spiritually). I also enjoy using ritual to invite healing into those areas of grief and loss that we all suffer from being human.
I have a deep belief in using a social justice lens to empower my clients to find their own voices and identities.
My practice is oriented towards all communities including individuals, couples, teens, and families. I understand that suffering connects all of us to the human experience.
